Priscilla Ellis-White

Priscilla Ellis-White was born and raised in San Joaquin County and loves to say she was “born to be a Social Worker.” Growing up in a family devoted to community service, she learned early the value of giving back. Her family served as foster grandparents, supported individuals in need through community outreach, and actively participated in church, local events, and health initiatives—experiences that shaped Priscilla’s lifelong commitment to service.

Priscilla has over 15 years of social work experience. Her path in human services began in childhood as a Blue Bird and later a Camp Fire Girl, where the values she learned became foundational to the professional she is today. She currently serves as a Medical Social Worker in the Pediatrics Department and inpatient clinic at a Central Valley hospital.

Priscilla completed her education in Stockton. She earned two AA degrees from San Joaquin Delta College, where she was recognized on the President’s Honor Roll. During her time at Delta, she completed internships at the Stockton Shelter for the Homeless and the San Joaquin County Victim Witness Program.

She went on to earn her BA in Sociology from the University of the Pacific, where she was honored with the M. Jack Mason Award, and later received her Master’s degree from CSU Stanislaus, where she again earned Honor Roll recognition.

Throughout her academic and professional journey, Priscilla volunteered, interned, or worked with a number of social service organizations, including San Joaquin County Behavioral Health, Aegis Treatment Center, AsceraCare Hospice, and Haven of Peace Women’s Shelter.

Priscilla strongly believes in the importance of self-care and maintaining a healthy work–life balance. In her supervision role, she hopes to bring a wealth of experience and perspective to students—helping them understand what she believes a career in social work truly is: “an exciting and wonderful world with endless opportunities.”
