Every week, we share a weekly round-up of resources to help support you and your community.

POWER OUTAGE SAFETY MEASURES
With rolling blackouts throughout the state, Ready.gov provides common safety measures for any type of power outage. The site shares tips to help you protect, prepare, and survive a power outage for yourself and your home.
READY FOR WILDFIRE
Ready for Wildfire shares resources to help you to prepare your family and home for the next California wildfire. You can sign up for text message notifications to receive information about wildfires near you. They also include resources on what to do if your home was affected by a fire.
FLEX ALERT
Sign up to Flex Alert to receive voluntary calls to conserve electricity. A Flex Alert is typically issued in the summer when extremely hot weather pushes up energy demand as it reaches available capacity. When reducing electricity use at critical times, it can prevent more dire emergency measures, including possible power outages.
COOLING CENTER LOCATIONS
CA Office of Emergency Services has released a compiled list of cooling centers by county. A cooling center is a facility, such as a senior center, community center or library, where people may go to get out of life-threatening heat during a heat wave. Cooling centers are for everyone, especially those at risk of getting a heat-related illness.
