12-15 YEAR OLDS ELIGIBLE FOR PFIZER COVID-19 VACCINATION
Adolescents ages 12-15 are now eligible for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines. Pfizer is the first vaccine manufacturer to gain emergency use authorization for younger Americans after it demonstrated that its vaccine was 100% effective in preventing COVID-19 from a study in March with participants ages 12-15.
CDC RECOMMENDS MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCING NO LONGER REQUIRED FOR VACCINATED
CDC has announced recommendations that masks are no longer required for indoors and outdoor for those who are vaccinated. The guidance still calls for wearing masks in crowded indoor settings like buses, planes, hospitals, prisons and homeless shelters, and also removing the need for social distancing for those who are fully vaccinated.
MYSTUDENTAID MOBILE APP
The myStudentAid mobile app from the U.S. Department of Education lets students and parents fill out and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. You can view your Student Aid Report, which is used to determine how much aid you qualify for or ask representatives questions about your application through the app.
California Hope provides free mental health services and support for those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Resources include a crisis warm line, referral to mental health and basic needs community resources, and virtual support groups. Two new support groups have started – Parenting in a Pandemic and Staying Well During COVID-19.
